Certification policy

Online Certification Online Certification (Silver Level) is the most basic level for assessing your skills in any Orchidseven Certification track. We are aware that in spite of best practices and monitoring process, it is difficult to avoid malpractices; hence online exams are used for basic assessment. Effective from 1st July 2008, online exams will only lead to 'Ethical Hacking Associate' status and will be an optional exam. Silver exams cost INR 7,500/-. To achieve the Expert status, the student must successfully clear the Lab exam and submit the research paper. You can register for the Gold exam directly for INR 15,000/-.
Open book exam Orchidseven silver certification is an open book exam. You may refer to instructional notes or books while attempting the exam. In reality, with so little time to answer a lot of questions, referring a book may actually slow down your process to take the exam properly. The purpose of allowing notes is to encourage our students from cramming or remembering absurd details that they can find anyway when in need.

Upgrade policy Upgrade means achieving a higher level than the current valid certification status. If your certification has expired, you have to re-certify all the levels required for an upgrade or next certification. For Example, if you are certified in H3X, you may increase your competency level by certifying in F3X. To upgrade in F3X, you must have a valid (active) H3X certification.

Retake Policy You can retake an examination if your existing certification has less than three months due for expiry. If you have been unable to clear an examination and wish to retake it, you must wait for a minimum of one week before the next attempt. You will be disqualified permanently from all orchidseven certifications if you have five consecutive failures / unsuccessful attempts across a single examination.

Voucher validity Silver Examination has to be taken on the last day of training. A certification voucher is valid up to one year from the date of issue to an ATP. Once registered on your name, you must appear for silver certification within 45 days.

Online / Gold exam policy When appearing for silver / gold exams remotely (not at an approved / authorized testing center) , you must have a quality webcam attached to your workstation. This must be active and placed suitably to monitor the premises / venue where the silver / gold exam is being taken. You must be logged into Skype for your viva test. Gold exams can only be taken after your research work / project has been approved by the moderators. Ensuring proper power backup is your responsibility. Any fluctuation or technical issue (like your disk rive crashing or a wild kid pressing that red button) in the silver / Gold exam from your end means you will have to pay and register again for the certification.

Research Work A one month research work is mandatory for all Gold (Lab) exams. During research work, a mentor is assigned to the student for any assistance.
Certification validity A Gold certification is valid for three years.
A silver certification is valid for one year. You must attempt a gold certification within one year of clearing silver certification.
A certification will be termed as invalid if you breach any of the terms and conditions

Trademarks / Logo usage policy The welcome package provides you with advertising guidelines for our logos, trade and service marks, trade names, emblems and titles (collectively called "Trademarks") and contains the certification title Orchidseven authorizes you to use. You may also use the emblem associated with that title. You may use the Trademarks only as described in the guidelines and only in association with the title Orchidseven authorizes you to use.
You agree, at Orchidseven’s request, to change or stop using any advertising or promotional material that misuses, as orchidseven determines, the Professional Certification Trademarks as stated in the guidelines. When this Agreement ends, you agree to promptly stop using Orhcidseven’s Trademarks. If you do not, you agree to pay any expenses and fees that orchidseven incurs in getting you to stop. You agree that any goodwill attaching to Orchidseven’s Trademarks as a result of your use of them belongs to Orchidseven. You agree not to register or use any mark that is confusingly similar to any of Orchidseven’s Trademarks.

General provisions
Each of us agrees that:
1. Any terms of this Agreement, which by their nature extend beyond the date this Agreement ends, remain in effect until fulfilled.
2. We will allow the other reasonable opportunity to comply before it claims that the other has not met its obligations.
3. Failure by either of us to insist on strict performance or to exercise a right when entitled, does not prevent either of us from doing so at a later time, either in relation to that default or any subsequent one.
You agree:
1. That certification does not ensure that you will qualify for any particular employment.
2. That your rights under this Agreement are not property rights and, therefore, you cannot transfer them to anyone else or encumber them in any way.
3. Not to assign, or otherwise transfer, this Agreement or your rights or obligations under it this Agreement, without our prior written consent. Any attempt to do so is void. This Agreement is governed by the laws of the State Maharashtra. This Agreement is the complete agreement between us regarding this transaction, and replaces all prior oral and written agreements relating to the transaction.
Non-Disclosure Policy - test content You agree not to disclose any questions / patterns or simulations that are part of silver and gold exams in any form anywhere.

Shipping of certificate If an ATP is present in your city, Orchidseven will ship the certificates directly to that ATP and also notify you upon its arrival. In case an ATP is not present at your home location, shipping of certification kit will take about five to eight weeks.
